Richard Stallman clarifica su polémico "tributo" a Steve Jobs.
Tras la tormenta que provocó la entrada en su blogs a propósito de la muerte de Jobs, Stallman aclara su posición. Como no queremos tergiversar lo que dice sacando frases de contexto, publicamos a continuación el texto traducido al castellano de la manera más precisa posible.

"En mi primera entrada sobre Steve Jobs, cité incorrectamente al alcalde Washinton. Según este programa de radio, sus palabras exactas fueron:
'Cuando él dice que que espera que yo tenga todas las buenas cualidades de alcaldes pasados, no hay buenas cualidades de alcaldes pasados. Ninguno. Ninguno. Ninguno. Ninguno.
No lamenté en el la capilla ardiente del fallecido alcalde. Lamento la muerte de cualquiera. No lamento que se fuera.'
Recordé dos oraciones ('Lamento ... que se fuera') de lo que dijo Washington, pero me equivoqué con las palabras. El error no alteraba el significado, pero la precisión requiere un corrección.
En general, la declaración de Washington es mucho más dura que la mía. Él criticaba al alcalde Daley como persona; yo criticaba la actividad pública de Jobs. Mis sentimientos con respecto a Jobs no son fuertes ya que casi no lo conocía. La cosa importante con respecto a Jobs es lo que dirigía a Apple para hacer a aquellos que áun viven: convertir ordenadores genéricos con grilletes digitales en más controladores e injustos que nunca. Los diseñaba para impedir a los usuarios incluso instalar su propia selección de aplicaciones - y la instalación de aplicaciones libres (de las que respetan la libertad) está totalmente prohibido. Incluso intentó hacer que fuera ilegal instalar software no aprobado por Apple.
Jobs vio la manera de hacer estos ordenadores elegantes y con estilo. Eso normalmente sería algo positivo, pero no lo es en este caso, ya que tuvo el paradójico efecto de hacer que su naturaleza controladora pareciera más aceptable.
La muerte de Jobs inspiró una riada de artículos alabándole por esos dispositivos. Eso incrementa su potencial de hacer daño, y ese es el motivo por el cual ahora, más que nunca, debemos concentrar nuestra atención en ello. No debemos dejar que consideraciones secundarias sobre Apple y Jobs nos distraigan de esta amenaza hasta que no haya sido derrotada.
Jobs también hizo del ataque a Android con patentes de software su cruzada personal. En la práctica, Android no es íntegramente libre, pero es un gran paso hacia adelante comparado con el iPhone. Si las armas de Apple dan en Android, podrían eliminar toda posibilidad de dispositivos portátiles con software libre que sean atractivos de usar. El legado de Jobs podría ser el desastre de patentes del que hemos advertido durante veinte años."

UN AUTO CON SISTEMA LINUX
Una idea muy ambiciosa se asoma al mundo de los autos, una idea asombrosa, que tal si fantasticos autos tuviesen el sistema operativo Linux?, bueno esa idea va cobrando vida poco a poco de la mano de Jesus Sanchez y su Team. Este proyecto se llama SAAB 91, es un auto con sistema operativo linux similar a los que usan los aviones, va a incluir sistema GPS, aplicaciones con interfaces amigables al usuario tipo, sistema de autonavegacion y muchas otras cosas mas. Jesus me ha encargado el trabajo de reclutar gente que sepa programar en los lenguajes basicos de linux o que solo quiera difundir la idea, necesitamos el apoyo- aporte de universidades que se quieran unir a este proyecto. Bueno sin mas que decirles les dejo un video del auto que va a llevar el sistema operativo.

- All the functions of the car are controlled by an operating system (SAAB LINUX) and a computer mother board integrated inside the car, that will be able to control every sigle aspect of the car. Our Linux team is working in this operating system. It will have two versions: MACHINE VERSION (with an ultralight kernel as similar as possible to UNIX to control the car's functions) and DESKTOP VERSION an evoluted version of Ubuntu Linux adapted specially for SAAB CARS and also for desktop computers.
-The operating system can run applications in real time. It would be possible to synchronize your blackberry or cell phone with the applications runing inside the car, you will be able to run applications as OpenOfice in real time.
- All the internal functions of the car, will be controlled by the operating system, this will allow to the mainteinance technicians save time and money accomplishing modifications in your car. For example, you can increase the Horse Power of your SAAB 91, just running a computer program that modify the enine paramenters. All the statistics of the usage of the vehicle will be stored in your key (in a MicroSD card or transferred to your cell phone in real time via Bluetooth of WIFI).

El 55% de los dispositivos Android vienen gravados con el "impuesto Microsoft".
Es oficial: El negocio de de telefonía de Microsoft se basa en el patent-trolling... y según admisión propia.
Según una entrada de blog publicada por Brad Smith y Horacio Gutierrez, abogados de la empresa, ya tienen 10 licencias con respectivos fabricantes de dispositivos, lo que significa que más de la mitad de los móviles Android tienen repercutido el coste de la licencia de una empresa que no ha colaborado en nada en su desarrollo.
El colmo del cinismo viene hacia el final del post, donde reprochan a las entidades que protestan por esta extorsión comportarse de manera inmadura y que hacen lo que hacen por el beneficio de sus partners.

mis primeras observaciones..!!!
1.NO ES INTUITIVO, es decir si tu instalas i luego lo usas i faltan complementos, no es como las otras dos versiones anteriores que te dicen "oh falta. esto y luego te da la opcion de instalarlo".
2.LOS ESCRITORIOS estan algo raros en su forma de uso..! sera que quieren imponer un nuevo estilo, bueno no se.. para mi esta a medias.
3.no esta instalado SYNAPTIC. porque dirán no lo se, en este momento estoy tratando de instalarlo y no encuentra el servidor. necesito instalar una librerías. no logre instalarlo desde el centro de software asi que lo teneis que hacer desde terminal y listo.
4.ESTA ALGO LENTO EN COMPARACIÓN CON SU ANTERIOR VERSIÓN (OJO ESTOY USANDO LA VERSIÓN DE 64BITS) TAL VEZ SEA POR ESO PIENSA MUCHO PARA EJECUTAR ALGO. DIGO EN COMPARACIÓN CON SU ANTERIOR VERSIÓN.
